Seal & Otter Are Looking For A Purrfect Home!
My foster buddies had their 1st vet visit and we now know that blood draws are NO FUN! But, they are negative for Feline Leukemia so that makes them purrfect! I won't be getting them vaccinated and I'm trying to hold off as long as I can to get them fixed. These babes are incredibly healthy since they have been eating a raw diet. They haven't had one health issue.
See what fisherkits they have become? Actually, Seal loved his raw fish when he was younger and Otter could live without it, but they have both decided that they like turkey and chicken the best but will eat beef, duck and fish mixed with poultry. These are the meats that we've tried so far. They also get a vitamin mineral supplement, digestive enzymes and fish oil daily.
Seal is much easier to photograph because he actually does pause for the camera. Otter is just busy, busy, busy and I can only get "action shots," which are usually of her back... but she sure has a shiny black back! These guys are about 13 weeks now as of 12/2/09 and would really like to be in a new home for Christmas where they can run and play and terrorize your Christmas Tree. WHAT FUN THAT WOULD BE! You can see below that they actually do sleep sometimes... and what a serene scene they create. This would be a snooze at theDogWorks/cats2 where they hang during the day, showing off for potential adopters. Couldn't you just watch this kind of bliss for hours? Since they go to work every day, they are seasoned travelers and if you continue to take them places you won't have to worry about those dreaded car rides like most cat owners. I got a kitten harness today so will start getting them used to that as well. Oh... and a book on clicker training for cats so these might just be the most sought after cats on the planet! Better get your adoption applications in quickly...
Stop by to see these cuties in action

Heeeeere's SEAL!
This would be the kitten known as Otter. She is beautiful, wouldn't you agree? A classic tuxedo. Otter is full of spunk, loves to climb and is quite adventuresome. Definitely more independent than her bro, Seal, but she loves to be loved as well. Cute, cute girl! These kittens had me at "MEOW!" Need a great home that appreciates that cats are true carnivores since I've only allowed quality canned food for their first few weeks and now have started them on raw food and they are thriving! I've also supplemented with Animal Apothecary's OL-Immune since Otter had frequent loose stools and occasional vomiting, and I've also been adding digestive enzymes & a vitamin mineral supplement to their raw meat. Their health peaked the day I started them on raw! I would love to adopt her with her brother, the sweet SealMan, since they survived b4me together... but not necessary at this time. Another "sibling" would be great, however so she won't be lonely when you are at work. These guys are used to a lot of stimulation since they go to work with me daily and play at home at night. Check out Seal's bio, too!

Herd of Kitties Looking for Homes!
We have a herd of kitties this weekend looking for furever homes. Only a couple may have found the purrfect home today so please tell your friends and come back tomorrow (Sunday, June 28th) to take a look at these cuties. Quite a few are all black or black & white and for some reason they get chosen last... but they are all so deserving! These are 3 of the 10 that were here.
And even if you miss this weekend event, please contact us a 614.449.0045 and we can hook you up with the kind folks who look after these babes. They have many, many more adults that need homes as well so be sure to tell all your friends and relatives that it's time to add a cat or kitten to the household... and PLEASE spay & neuter and consider assisting a TNR (trap, neuter, return) program in your neighborhood. Want to learn more about TNR? Lookie HERE! THANKS!

One of the annual highlights is on the horizon...
The German Village Haus und Garten Tour is an event filled with traditions and surprises, much like the neighborhood it showcases.
German Village opens its doors and garden gates for the 50th Anniversary Annual Haus und Garten, which highlights the exquisite gardens and historical renovations of the Village. Guests can explore the sites at their own pace, while enjoying gardening demonstrations, and observing members of the Central Ohio Watercolor Society paint their masterpieces for the annual watercolor competition.
Stop by the Meeting Haus for your tour program on the day of the tour. Plan to shop for unique home and garden accessories, and enjoy the many opportunities to shop, dine, and stroll during your visit to Historic German Village. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the German Village Society Meeting Haus beginning June 1. Tickets will be held at the "Ticket Will Call" station at the Meeting Haus for pick up on tour day.
Sunday June 28th from 9am ~ 6pm

ADOPTED! YES!
Billy was living on the streets near the Kroger store in Marion Village. If you are shopping for an affectionate boy a little over a year old, you want to meet Billy. He is so grateful for kindness and is just longing to be loved. I have never seen a cat look into your eyes the way Billy does.
Take a look yourself, and you’ll see.

Adam has been ADOPTED!
Originally, Adam was to spend a couple of nights with us during the floor rehab at the Franklin County Dog shelter. Well… It has now been 9 days! Needless to say, after Adam’s company for a couple of days, we could not bring ourselves to take him back to the Dog Shelter. We are now fostering Adam AND are looking for a good “FOREVER HOME” for him. Adam has been nothing but the perfect house guest. He is completely house trained. I say completely, because not only has there been zero accidents, but , he has been forced outside on rainy days after holding it for 12 hours. He has free roam of the house with no mischief. That is not to say that he is not curious! Adam loves to follow you around peaking into every door you open, sniffing all things picked up. He is very eager to discover the world. Looking out the windows, hanging in the courtyard and walking the neighborhood all rank high on his list of favorites. Not to mention napping in the sun - which is where he spends most of his day.
I would classify Adam as a medium energy/laid back dog. He likes to go for walks, chew bones and play a little in the house (mostly by himself or with Strauss). H e is not at your heels begging to play. He may be at your side for company and your hand for pets but not for entertainment.
I haven’t met a dog that likes to lay on their back as much as he - during play with Strauss, while playing with his toys (by himself) or to grab a pet (big belly rub lover). He is not aggressive with his food nor toys, although, he has a big BARK. He lets people know he is in the house but does not carry on. He knows sit and down but needs to work on all his general commands. (Sit, down, stay, come). He is NOT off leash trained. Adam is very smart and eager to please (might be a little timid due to past training techniques) but just needs a little consistency. He sleeps in his dog bed at night and has taken to Strauss’s sleeping schedule – you have to wake them both in the morning. It is obvious I could ramble on and on about Adam (I adore him). But I will spare you.
Give us a shout here at theDogWorks and we'll hook you up with Tracey & ADAM!
Rudy is a black German Shepherd mix @6.5 months old. My vet clinic found him.
They have neutered, wormed, and flea and heartworm protected him. I am doing a little training with him. He is still very puppyish in jumping on people, pulling when on leash, grabbing treats from the hand.He is learning to stop before exiting at doors, walk on leash, sit, watch me, etc….He is very food motivated and quick to learn!!!
Give us a jingle and we'll connect you with Rudy's foster parent!
